From My Friend, Susan, of NC - 05/27/15:

“Courage becomes a living and an attractive virtue when it is regarded not only as a willingness to die manfully, but also as a determination to live decently. A moral coward is one who is afraid to do what he thinks is right because others will disapprove or laugh. Remember that all men have their fears, but those who face their fears with dignity have courage as well.

    Thanks so much, Susan!

From Joan Lauterbach Krause ('60) of VA - 05/28/20:

  From Jimmy Dick ('65) of FL - 05/28/20, @ 5:15 AM:

I just want to say Good Morning on this Thursday morning to all my Typhoon friends.

I've had a tough couple of days following some much more difficult than expected skin cancer surgery, but coming back slowly and just want you to know how blessed I am to be feeling better. It's going to be a slow process but God has been good to me. Skin cancer is no fun, especially when it is more than just a routine case but I know that I am just paying for the sins of my youth in the sun. Glorious days they were.

I just want to wish you a wonderful morning for every morning we awaken is a glorious day. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, be blessed this day. And God bless you all. Here's a little sunshine for your day in picture form.

   Thank you, Jimmy!

From Jean Poole Burton ('64) of RI - 05/27/20, 11:30 PM:

From My Niece, Shari, of VA - 05/02/20, 11:51 AM - "Lovely Lavender" (#11 in a Series of 13):

One thing for sure is the quarantine has not only made us miss people, but also the beauty the world has to offer... I hope you enjoy these lovely pictures. I have been sending out a few of my favorite things...

"The more often we see the things around us - even the beautiful and wonderful things - the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds - even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less."

 - Joseph B. Wirthlin

   Thank you, Shari!

 From My Niece, Shari, of VA - 05/14/20, 7:57 AM - "~'~ I Love Pink ~'~" (#11 in a Series of 20):

As we slowly venture back into the world, let's hope a new gentleness becomes our theme. Let's all be gentle with ourselves and others,  human and animal, as well as to the earth. This has been a trauma for so many. This brings me to another one of my favorite things, the softness of Pink.

“There is no energy greater than the power of Love. Once I finally embraced this concept, I realized that the path to Ascension always begins with the heart, and the color Pink.”

―
Eleyne-Mari Sharp, Mad About Hue: A Memoir in Living Color

   Thank you, Shari!

BONUS SHAVUOT DECORATING IDEAS:

Decorative Shavuot Flower Garland - "I love decorating my home with flowers for Shavuot. It reminds us of when G‑d gave us the Torah on beautiful Mount Sinai, which He lavishly decorated with flowers. I usually fill all the vases with my favorite picks and place the vases all over my home. This year, I wanted to do something different, and I decided the tissue paper garlands that I see everywhere could be easily adapted for the holiday."

FINALLY:
From www.ajokeaday.com - 05/27/20:

At a girl's college dormitory, dates were permitted only on Saturday night.

One young man showed up on a Tuesday evening, explaining to an older woman in the lobby of the dorm that it was imperative he see a certain young lady immediately.

"I want to surprise her. You see, I'm her brother."

"Oh, she'll be surprised all right," said the woman. "But think of how surprised I am, I'm her mother!"
