NEWPORT NEWS - Alice Newell Bull died peacefully with her children at her side on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

She was born July 1, 1926, at Fort Eustis, the youngest of seven children born to the late William Riley and Mary Campbell Newell. She lived her entire life in Warwick County and Newport News.

She was a 1943 graduate of Morrison High School and a member of New Covenant Church. Alice loved her church and church family. Some of her fondest memories were those of being involved in the many activities of the church including her Home Group and the Palms.

Alice will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from looking after her family and feeding them well.

There's a sweet sweet spirit in this place
And I know that it's the spirit of the Lord

There are sweet expressions on each face
And I know they feel the presence of the Lord

Sweet Holy Spirit
Sweet heavenly dove
Stay right here with us
Filling us with your love
And for these blessings
We lift our hearts in praise (hearts in praise)
Without a doubt we'll know that we have been revived
When we shall leave this place
