05/19/18 - NNHS Newsletter - Armed Forces Day

“People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”

-
George Orwell
(25 June 1903 – 21 Jan 1950)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

This observance is celebrated each year on the third Saturday in May. Remember those wonderful, inspiring Armed Forces Day Parades back in the early sixties?? Sigh.

BONUS - Stars And Stripes Forever - "The President's Own" United States Marine Band, March, 3, 2009, in the John Philip Sousa Band Hall at Marine Barracks Annex in Washington, D.C.

FINALLY:

From www.ajokeaday.com - 05/18/18:

A man walked into a barbershop, sat down in the chair, and the barber asked, "How do you want your haircut?"

The man said, " I would like the sideburns one high and one low, a few long hairs sticking out of the back, and a few chunks on the side and top."

The barber looked puzzled and said, "I'm not sure I can do that."

The customer said, "Why not? You did it that way last time."
