Dear Friends and Schoolmates,     

   We have yet another sad edition of the NNHS Newsletter this morning.      Paul Condron, father of Paul Condron of VA; Judy Condron Sivacek of VA, Mary Condron Munoz-Tollinchi of Northern VA, Amy Condron Alley of VA, and of the late  Linda Condron Mercer ('67) (22 Jan 1949 - 29 Mar 1991), and former father-in-law of   Johnny Mercer ('67) of VA, passed away in Newport News at the age of 86.

NEWPORT NEWS - Paul Herbert Condron, 86, died May 15, 2009.

He had been a Peninsula resident since 1960 and was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church where he served as an Officer and Treasurer for the Parkview United Methodist Men. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran having served 26 years before retiring in 1969 and still enjoyed meeting his buddies every 2nd Wednesday at Tommy's Restaurant. He also retired from the Newport News Sheriff's Department in 1986 after 17 years of service.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Coladean J. Condron; one son, Paul H. Condron Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Gloucester; three daughters, Judy A. Sivacek and her husband, Michael of Gloucester, Mary Munoz-Tollinchi and Rick of Woodbridge and Amy Alley and her fiancE, David Griffin Sr. of Chesapeake; and 28 grand and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Mercer.
 

 


The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at the Full Gospel Worship Center, 7010 Chestnut Ave., Newport News, with the Pastors Charles Hughs, Don Elmore, and Carl Mericle officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Hampton -Veterans Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Parkview United Methodist Church, 912 Briarfield Road, Newport News, VA 23605.

I was sorry to read of the passing of Paul Condron. I knew Paul from his time as a deputy with the Newport News Sheriff's Dept. As I was a deputy with Hampton, I had many interactions with Paul. He was a fine professional and an even finer man. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

To Mrs. Condron and all of the Condron family , I am sorry for your loss and I was very sorry to hear that Paul had passed. Paul was a very good man and someone that I developed a lot of respect for, both as a friend and as one of my deputies. I am glad that I had the opportunity to know Paul.
