Robert Benjamin Ruben
(11 May 1947 - 25 Apr 2018)

Newport News High School Class of 1965

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

Here is a more complete account of the sad news we previously reported. Bobby Ruben, Class of 1965, brother of Rona Ruben ('61), passed away in Williamsburg on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the age of 70.

He was the first cousin of  Ronni Green Cristol ('64) of MD and Ricki Green Gray ('68) of NC, and the nephew of the late  Mimi Weger Green, Valedictorian of the Class of February 1940.

May his memory be for a blessing always.

From Ricki Green Gray ('68) of NC - 05/01/18, 4:20 PM:

Hi, Carol,

This is Ricki (Green) Gray, Class of '68. Bobby Ruben was my first cousin. He passed away last Tuesday, just short of 71. His birthday is May 11, 1947.

There will be a graveside gathering this Thursday at 2pm at the Rosenbaum Hebrew Cemetery on Kecoughtan Road in Hampton. There are no family members left in NN.

Obladi Oblada life goes on.

Thank you so much, Ricki. I had forgotten (if I ever knew) that y'all were cousins. Bobby was in Mrs. Hatcher's first grade class with me at Magruder School. While we were at NNHS, we shared many classes, were in French Club and Christopher Newport Society together, and served together on the Writing Staff for our Senior Assembly. Some of my most cherished memories, therefore, seem to involve Bobby. You and Ronni have my deepest sympathies on the passing of your cousin.
