Crying in the Rain

“There is no greater sorrow than to recall
in misery the time when we were happy.”

- Dante Alighieri
(May/June c. 1265 - 14 Sept 1321)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

Even fully realizing what a tremendous blessing moisture from the sky is to us all, it still generally leaves me crying in the rain. The weather this year has been completely wacky, no matter where in the world you live.

BONUS RAINY DAY RECIPES:

Rainy Day Recipes by - "April may be almost over, but we have a funny feeling that we haven't seen the last of those pesky Spring showers. Don't let the rain get you down; instead, channel all of that energy into some culinary projects and challenges. We've got eight ideas for recipes to make while it's coming down outside. Some of them may take a bit of extra effort, but it will be worth it when you can cuddle up in front of a good movie with some delicious eats while you wait for the sun to come out again."

FINALLY:

From http://www.ajokeaday.com - 04/29/19 - "The Importance of Punctuation":

I'm not the easiest guy in the world to get along with, so when our anniversary rolled around, I wanted my wife to know how much I appreciated her for tolerating me for the past 20 years. I ordered flowers and told the florist to enclose a card that read, 'Thanks for putting up with me so long.'

When my wife got the delivery, she called me at work.

"Just where do you think you going?" she asked.

"What do you mean?" I said.

She read the card aloud as the florist had written it: "Thanks for putting up with me. So long."

Crying in the Rain

Written by Howard Greenfield (15 Mar 1936 – 04 Mar 1986) and Carole King (b. 09 Feb 1942)

Recorded by The Everly Brothers, 1962

Recorded by a-ha, 1990

I'll never let you see
The way this broken heart is hurting me
I've got my pride
And I know how to hide
All the sorrow and pain
I'll do my crying in the rain

If I wait for cloudy skies
You won't know the rain from the tears in my eyes
You'll never know
That I still love you so
Though the heartaches remain
I'll do my crying in the rain

Raindrops falling from Heaven
Could never wash away my misery
Since we're not together
I pray for stormy weather
Raindrops falling from Heaven
Could never wash away my misery
Since we're not together
I pray for stormy weather
To hide these tears I hope you never see

Some day when my crying's done
I'm gonna wear a smile and walk in the sun
I may be a fool
But 'til then darling you'll
Never see me complain
I'll do my crying in the rain
To hide these tears I hope you never see

Some day when my crying's done
I'm gonna wear a smile and walk in the sun
I may be a fool
But 'til then darling you'll
Never see me complain
I'll do my crying in the rain

Raindrops falling from Heaven
Could never wash away my misery
Since we're not together
I pray for stormy weather
To hide these tears I hope you never see

Some day when my crying's done
I'm gonna wear a smile and walk in the sun
I may be a fool
But 'til then darling you'll
Never see me complain
I'll do my crying in the rain
I'll do my crying in the rain
