Warwick High School Class of 1960

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

   We have yet another sad edition of the NNHS Newsletter today.        Doc Hudson, Warwick High School Class of 1960, husband of    Catherine Slusser Hudson ('64) of VA, passed away in Hampton on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the age of 68.  He was the brother-in-law of    Robert Slusser ('61) of VA.

  From Catherine Slusser Hudson ('64) of VA - 04/25/10, 12:03 PM:

Carol:
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that
 my husband of 45-1/2 years passed away peacefully in Sentara Hampton ICU with family at his side. It was a brave fight but as he would have said, "When I get to Heaven to Saint Peter I will say,  'Just one more Marine reporting, Sir'".

The funeral arrangements are pending at this time.

Take care, fellow classmates and Typhoons. Life is way too short, so live it well.

Catherine Slusser Hudson

   Oh, Catherine!  I'm so very, very sorry to hear this!  I cannot even imagine such a thing, and cannot think of any meaningful words of great comfort.  Just know that you and your family are - and will be - in the hearts and prayers of many at this time and in the days and weeks to come.

       From Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA to   Catherine Slusser Hudson ('64) of VA- 04/25/10, 6:08 PM:

Catherine,

Permit me to add my sincere condolences to Carol’s.....

Sadly,

Dave Spriggs

Dear Cathy and family,
I was shocked to see Myles had passed away. I often think about your family when I pass by the house on Big Bethel Road. Many years have passed since I have seen you, but I think of you often. I will always remember Myles stopping by Dr. M's office to see his mom and talking about the police department or a case he was working on. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you all in my prayers. Take care, fondly

Amazing Grace

Words by John Newton, 1779
(24 July 1725 – 21 Dec 1807)

 Amazing grace! (how sweet the sound)
That sav'd a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev'd;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ'd!

Thro' many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promis'd good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call'd me here below,
Will be forever mine.
