Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

Few singers have ever equaled the soothing velvet tones of Jim Reeves insofar as "comfort sounds".  I don't know about you, but I'm in the mood for some comfort right about now.

From John Patterson ('59) of TN - 04/24/15 - "I figured out why I'm getting fat":

I don't know why I didn't figure this out sooner!

Do you use shampoo to wash your hair in the shower?

The shampoo runs down your whole body, and yet printed very clearly on the shampoo label is this warning: "FOR EXTRA BODY AND VOLUME"

No wonder I've been gaining weight for years!

Well, I got rid of the shampoo and I'm going to start using Dawn dishwashing liquid instead.

Its label says: "DISSOLVES FAT THAT IS OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE."

Problem solved!

     GREAT PLAN! Thanks, John!

From Bobby Callis ('64) of WV - 04/25/15:

Now, don’t get all excited thinking you’re going to read about chocolate papaya muffin tops or fennel sardine apricot bread. No, I’m talking about the stack of recipes I’ve clipped together and hung on the pegboard next to my work station in the King Arthur test kitchen. These are recipes I make over and over again–for potlucks, for bake sales, or for going-away lunches here at work. Or just because, after sitting for three hours at the computer, I need to bake something..."

FINALLY:

From www.ajokeaday.com - 04/25/15:

A husband, the owner of a new car, was somewhat reluctant to allow his wife to drive his prize possession...even to the Supermarket which was a few blocks from the house.

Four Walls

Written by Marvin Moore and George Campbell, 1957

Recorded by Jim Reeves
(20 Aug 1923 - 31 July 1964)

Out where the bright lights are glowing
You're drawn like a moth to a flame
You laugh while the wine's over-flowing
While I sit and whisper your name

Four walls to hear me
Four walls to see
Four walls too near me
Closing in on me

Sometimes I ask why I'm waiting
But my walls have nothing to say
I'm made for love, not for waiting
But here where you've left me, I'll stay

Four walls to hear me
Four walls to see
Four walls too near me
Closing in on me

One night with you is like heaven
And so, while I'm walking the floor
I'll listen for steps in the hallway
And wait for your knock on my door

Four walls to hear me
Four walls to see
Four walls too near me
Closing in on me
