Dear Friends and Schoolmates,  

   The sad news continues today.  
  Frances Banton Cooper, Class of 1967, sister of Clyde Banton of VA, and Leslie Banton of VA,  and of the late Grace Banton Mason (28 Feb 1934 - 06 Jan 2009), Elizabeth Banton Hudgins (d. 01 Nov 1998), and Vernon Banton (12 Jan 1936 - Dec 1970??), passed away at home in Pickens, South Carolina on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the age of 66.

CAUSE: COPD

LOCALLY SURVIVED BY TWO BROTHERS, LESLIE H. BANTON (AVERNIA) OF NEWPORT NEWS, VA. AND CLYDE S. BANTON (BARBARA) OF HAMPTON, AND SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD IN PICKENS, SOUTH CAROLINA...

I AM FRANCES’ SISTER-IN-LAW.

   Thank you so much, Barbara. I never would have known about this had you not contacted me. You and your family have my sincerest condolences.

                   Frances Banton Cooper

   

PICKENS, SC - Claudia Frances Cooper, age 66, wife of the late Willie Cooper, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 17, 2015, at her home.

Mrs. Cooper was born in Gladys, Va., the daughter of the late Sarah Tomlin Banton and Howard Banton.

Survivors include two step daughters; Cindy Cooper Hall of Pickens, Diane Cooper McCall (Lee) of Six Mile, two brothers; Clyde Banton (Barbara) of Hampton, Va., Leslie Banton (Lavernia) of Newport, Va., seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

 

 
 
 


Visitation was held on April 21 at Dillard Funeral Home with a chapel service to following. Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Mrs. Cooper was predeceased by her parents, husband, one step daughter; Lisa Ann Cooper, two sisters; Grace Banton Mason, Elizabeth Hudgins, and brother; Vernon Banton.


Dillard Funeral Home is assisting the Cooper family.
