POQUOSON - Christine C. Walker, 48, a native of Newport News and resident for the past 15 years of Poquoson, passed away with family by her side Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in her home.

Christine attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Poquoson. She was employed by Food Lion as a receiver for more than 12 years.

Christine was many things to her family; a great southern cook, softball mom and coach to not only her children but so many more who called her "Miss Chris," a Girl Scout leader, teacher's aide to children with disabilities, an "on-the-go-mom" that supported all of her children no matter what the need, and to add to the list of great titles, the joy of being a grandmother to Kailand. Christine will be greatly missed by her beloved husband, loving family, and many great and wonderful friends.

Christine was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Campbell and her cousin, Bettina Landes.

She is survived by her husband of eight years, Jimmy Walker; her children, Raychel Cole and husband, Rob, Jess Evans and wife, Ashley, Birdy Evans, Ashley Walker, Taylor Walker, Logan Walker and Cole Walker; grandchild, Kailand Cole; mother, Patricia Spry and husband, Ed; brother, Wayne Campbell and wife, Karen; sister, Sarah Slaydon and husband, Tony; father-in-law, Jim Walker and wife, Dianne; mother-in-law, Betty Sharp and husband, Terry; stepsister, Ginger McMinnis; stepbrother, Dale Colberly; sister-in-law, Shannon Ferguson and husband, Chris; brothers-in-law, Clint Sharp and Robbie Sharp; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, and other times at her home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson, by the Rev. C. Eugene Meek. Burial will follow at Weston Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to CHKD, P. O. Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501. Online condolences may be made to www.claytorrollins.com.

Sometime, Somewhere

Words by Ophelia G. Adams
Music by Charles D. Tillman

Unanswered yet? The prayer lips have pleaded
In agony of heart these many years?
Does faith begin to fail, is hope departing,
And think you all in vain those falling tears?
Say not the Father hath not heard your prayer;
You shall have your desire, sometime, somewhere,
You shall have your desire, sometime, somewhere.

Unanswered yet? Tho' when you first presented
This one petition at the Father's throne,
It seemed you could not wait the time of asking,
So urgent was your heart to make it known.
Tho' years have passed since then, do not despair;
The Lord will answer you, sometime, somewhere,
The Lord will answer you, sometime, somewhere.

Unanswered yet? Nay, do not say ungranted;
Perhaps your part is not yet wholly done,
The work began when first your prayer was uttered,
And God will finish what he has begun
If you will keep the incense burning there;
His glory you shall see, sometime, somewhere,
His glory you shall see, sometime, somewhere.

Unanswered yet? Faith cannot be unanswered;
Her feet were firmly planted on the Rock;
Amid the wildest storm prayer stands undaunted,
Nor quails before the loudest thunder shock;
She knows Omnipotence has heard her prayer,
And cries, "It shall be done, sometime, somewhere,"
And cries, "It shall be done, sometime, somewhere."
