Phyllis, I did not know your husband well, but I do know how much my granddaughter (in-law) Kim thought of him. May God bless you and comfort all the family.

Have a nice trip, old friend... I was a good friend of Harold back during the good ol' teen age years and still have a photo of him and me in the first grade at Thomas Jefferson grammar school. It is long gone, of course, but stood between 30th and 31st Street in the 600 block in Newport News. Good bye Harold -- God speed.

Blest Be the Tie that Binds

Words by John Fawcett (1740-1817), after 1772

Music (Dennis) by Hans Georg Nägeli (26 May 1773  - 26 Dec 1836)

1. Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.

2. Before our Father's throne
We pour our ardent pray'rs;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims, are one,
Our comforts and our cares.

3. We share our mutual woes,
Our mutual burdens bear;
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.

4. When we asunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.
