Dear Friends and Schoolmates,   

   There is more sad news this Good Friday.     Linda ("Bones") Bobbitt Brown, Class of 1969, sister of Janie Bobbitt Hancock, passed away in Newport News on Wednesday, April 04, 2012 at the age of 62.

      NEWPORT NEWS - On Wednesday, April 4, 2012, Linda Bobbitt Brown (Bones), daughter of John Haywood Bobbitt and Kelly West Bobbitt, lost her battle with cancer at the age of 62.

Linda was a native of Newport News and graduated from Newport News High School.
 
 
 
 

 

 

Linda will be forever remembered by her children, Ashley Brown Francis and her husband, Erik Francis, and Kate Brown and her fiancé, Andrew Berger; as well as their father, Kenneth W. Brown. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Rylie and Conner Francis. She is survived by her sister, Janie Hancock and brother-in-law Marlin; as well as her extensive nieces and nephews in Texas; and sister-in-law Peggy Shannon.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home with Paul White officiating. Interment will be private.
