From My Friend, Susan, of NC - 03/29/15:

“Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when we don’t judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accepting someone’s differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings; having patience with someone who has let us down; or resisting the impulse to become offended when someone doesn’t handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to take advantage of another’s weakness and being willing to forgive someone who has hurt us. Charity is expecting the best of each other.”

- Marvin J. Ashton
(06 May 1915  - 25 Feb 1994)

   Thanks so much, Susan!

From My Cousin, Cheryl White Wilson (James Blair HS / John Marshall HS - '64) of VA - 03/30/19:

   Thank you, Cheryl!

From Jimmy Dick ('65) of FL - 03/30/19, 7:57 AM:

The windows were open and it was nice and cool, so I slept in a bit this morning. Wanted to say good morning to all before heading out for the horse chores. They stand at the fence, looking toward the fence, saying, "Why isn't he feeding us."

But it's Saturday, so I allow myself a little leeway and I look at the calendar to see what April, which starts Monday, will bring.

Well, in just two weeks it will bring me back to Nags Head for my book signing and presentation. I call it my traveling nostalgia show as I hope to tell some old stories so that those who will remember can smile along with me and those too young can truly understand what they missed. It will be fun and I'll just go with the flow with my friend Frank with whom we'll have a four day reunion after over fifty years. And then, when I get back to sunny North Florida for the weekend, it will be be Easter Sunday, Resurrection Day, the most wonderful day on earth so far, because it's the day where we were all guaranteed eternity if we just open our hearts with faith and believe in Him. What could be better than that. I'll start writing about the lead up to Easter before my travels and add some nostalgia about those wonderful times around Easter in the old day. In the meantime, Happy Saturday and enjoy a relaxing and fun filled day. We all need that at least one day a week and then, don't forget about tomorrow, the Lord's Day either. Blessings, all.

     Thank you, Jimmy!

From Carlene Matthews Vannoy ('60 / '64) of VA - 03/28/19, 12:48 PM:

   Thanks, Carlene!

BONUS SWEET NOTHING CROCHET PATTERN:

Two-Inch Flower Crochet Patterns - "This flower is one of my favorite designs included on our list of easy crochet flower patterns. It's a sweet nothing of a little flower that's quick to crochet. My sample flower measures a little less than two inches, and it's only two rounds. Of course, if you crochet this pattern, your flower may turn out to be a different size, depending on the materials you use. I used a baby yarn to crochet my sample flower. If you'd like your flower to be bigger, you can use a thicker yarn. If you want a really tiny flower, use crochet thread or embroidery floss to make a miniature version."

FINALLY:

From http://www.ajokeaday.com - 03/29/19:

Two students were arguing when their teacher entered the classroom. The teacher asked, “Why are you arguing?”

One boy answered, “We found a ten dollar bill and decided to give it to whoever tells the biggest lie.”

"You should be ashamed of yourselves," said the teacher. "When I was your age I didn’t even know what a lie was."

The boys gave the ten dollars to the teacher.

Sweet Nothin's

Written by Dub Allbritten and Ronnie Self (05 July 1938 – 28 Aug1981)

Recorded by Brenda Lee (b. 11 Dec 1944), 1959

(Whispering) Uh Huh Honey
(Whispering) Alright

My baby whispers in my ear
Ummm, Sweet Nothin's
He knows the things I like to hear
Ummm, Sweet Nothin's
Things he wouldn't tell
Nobody else
Secret baby
I keep them to myself
Sweet Nothin's
Ummm, Sweet Nothin's

We walk along hand in hand
Ummm, Sweet Nothin's
Yeah, we both understand
Ummm Sweet Nothin's
Sittin' in the classroom trying to read my book
My baby give me that special look
Sweet Nothin's
Ummm, Sweet Nothin's

[Instrumental Interlude]

Ah, sittin on my front porch
Ummm, Sweet Nothin's
Well, do I love you, of course
Ummm, Sweet Nothin's
Mama turned on the front porch light
Sayin' "Come here darlin' that' enough for tonight"
Sweet Nothin's
Ummm, Sweet Nothin's
Sweet Nothin's
