Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 15th at 10:00 am at Peninsula Funeral Home, with service following at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.

Lastly, the family expresses sincere thanks to the precious people at Riverside Hospice. To the two hospice angels, Melissa and Heather, your tender service humbles us. Another Angel has earned her wings!

Aunt Doris Mae lived her faith and loved and encouraged everyone.

Maybe these words will encourage the family...

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal. -- from a headstone in Ireland.

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief and unspeakable love. - Washington Irving (not copyrighted).

Love and prayers.

I'm sure her life was reflected in her daughter Kathy Harris who was a joy to work with for years in the Newport News Public School system. Love and prayers for the family.

Take My Hand, Precious Lord

Words by the Rev. Thomas A. Dorsey
(02 July 1899 - 23 Jan 1993)

Music by George Nelson Allen
(07 Sept 1812 - 09 Dec 1877)

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on,
Let me stand
I'm tired, I am weak I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near
When my life is almost gone
Hear my cry,
Hear my call
Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

When the darkness appears and the night draws near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet,
Hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on,
Let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
