organ of the Reich.
March 11, 1942 -
Douglas MacArthur abandoned
Corregidor for Australia. He vowed, "I shall return."
THIS DAY IN 1963:
|Monday, March 11, 1963 - Director and producer Davis Guggenheim was born Philip Davis Guggenheim in St. Louis, Missouri.|
From Bill Hobbs ('66) of Northern VA - 03/10/13, 10:03 PM AND From Wayne Stokes ('65) of VA - 03/11/13, 11:44 AM - "FASTEST DRAW EVER":
|You gotta watch
Don't try this at your local shooting range....
You have got to see this!! Do not pick a fight with this guy if he is wearing his gun!! Unless you're a complete idiot!! I'm not suggesting that you pick a fight if he isn't wearing his gun or with anyone!!Seriously--this is amazing.
AN EX-FBI AGENT WHO WAS TIMED IN LESS THAN 3/100'S OF A SECOND.
THIS GUY COULD SHOOT YOU EVEN IF YOU WERE HOLDING A GUN ON HIM, YOUR REACTION WOULD NOT BE FAST ENOUGH TO PULL TRIGGER.
YOU COULD START PULLING THE TRIGGER AS FAST AS POSSIBLE WITH HIS GUN STILL IN THE HOLSTER AND YOU WOULD LOSE.
WOWZERONI! That's amazing! Thanks, Billy - and Wayne Honey!
From Joyce Lawrence Cahoon ('65) of VA - 03/10/13 - "Little Johnny":
|Johnny's mother looked out the
window and noticed him "playing church" with their cat. He had the cat
sitting quietly and he was preaching to it. She smiled and went about
her work. A while later she heard loud meowing and hissing and ran back
To the open window to see Johnny baptizing the cat in a tub of water.
She called out, "Johnny, stop that! The cat is afraid of water!"
Johnny looked up at her and said, "He should have thought about that before he joined my church."
From Bill Hobbs ('66) of Northern VA - 03/10/13 - "Modern Chinese Hotel Construction":
|HOW ABOUT THOSE PREFAB JOBS!!!
This is unbelievable!
Is it any wonder China is now the world's number one economic power? This 30 story hotel took 15 days to erect!
Notice each of the sections already has electric and plumbing installed and was tested for accuracy, all prior to leaving the factory. Those sections formed and pre-tested at the factory fit together like Lego building blocks. And look at the earthquake resistance level!
MORE WOWZERONI! That's amazing, too! Thanks again, Billy!
From My Friend, Tina, of NC - 03/10/13:

The Cliffs of Doneen
You may travel
far far from your own native land
Far away o'er the mountains, far away o'er the foam
But of all the fine places that I've ever been
Sure there's none can compare with the cliffs of Doneen.
Take a view o'er the mountains, fine sights you'll see there
You'll see the high rocky mountains o'er the west coast of Clare
Oh the town of Kilkee and Kilrush can be seen
From the high rocky slopes round the cliffs of Doneen.
It's a nice place to be on a fine summer's day
Watching all the wild flowers that ne'er do decay
Oh the hares and lofty pheasants are plain to be seen
Making homes for their young round the cliffs of Doneen.
Fare thee well to Doneen, fare thee well for a while
And to all the kind people I'm leaving behind
To the streams and the meadows where late I have been
And the high rocky slopes round the cliffs of Doneen.
