From the Daily Press - 03/03/13:

                  Irene Price Marlow

MONTGOMERY, AL - Our beloved mother, 86, was gathered into the arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, passing peacefully at her son's home.

She was born on May 22, 1926 to Nancy and Leonard Paudy Price of Selma, NC.

Irene had a strong spiritual faith that provided her with strength in her final years. Irene loved cooking for her family, gardening, reading, visiting San Diego with her daughter, son-in-law and grandsons. All of those who knew her bore witness to her selfless concern for her widespread family and circle of friends.

Irene was the loving wife of George, predeceased, and is survived by her daughter Anne Marlow Fitzgerald, son-in-law Steve Fitzgerald of San Diego, CA, and her son George David Marlow, daughter-in-law Angelle Marlow of Deatsville, Al., her sisters Geraldine P. Ann & David,
So sorry for the loss of your mom. I knew her when she lived in Newport News and attended Parkview Baptist Church. Your dad and my Uncle Clifford Freeman worked together in the shipyard. I often went with my Aunt Louise Freeman to pick Uncle Clifford and your Dad from work after the 2nd shift - so long ago and so many fond memories. I remember your mom as being a sweet and gentle lady. Take comfort in the fact that she is now in the arms of Jesus.
Prayers & God Bless

Amazing Grace

Words by John Newton (24 July 1725 21 Dec 1807), 1779

 Amazing grace! (how sweet the sound)
That sav'd a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev'd;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ'd!

Thro' many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promis'd good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call'd me here below,
Will be forever mine.
