Precious Memories is a traditional gospel hymn credited to J.B.F. Wright in 1925. J. B. F. Wright was born in Tennessee, February 21, 1877. It has been performed by a wide variety of famous recording artists including Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Daniel O'Donnell, The Edwin Hawkins Singers, and Bob Dylan. It was also the last song on the soundtrack of the 1979 film Hardcore, then performed by Susan Raye at the film's opening and closing credits.

Aretha Franklin recorded the song for her album "Amazing Grace" (1972) and Ronnie Milsap for his album "Then Sings My Soul" (2009).

Precious Metallic Shawl

Belinda Harris-Reid's Precious Shawl or Baby Blanket - "Precious is a celebration of all things quintessentially British; a new baby Royal needs to be swaddled in our luxury British alpaca and silk yarn manufactured exclusively in Britain from the fleece of alpacas farmed in the UK. PRECIOUS is so comfortable and soft, light and airy but incredibly warm. Pure heaven to touch and wear. This gentle and delicate shawl can be for a small person (a special baby) or to wrap your shoulders when the twilight visits, just a little something to wear when the darkness descends and the air becomes chilly. Uncomplicated and effortless to make – a rhythmic pattern repeat that is soothing to work; cables, garter-stitch borders and an intricate lacy motif makes up the design. Just a simple rectangle; with no seams and two threads to sew in - one at the beginning and one at the end..." - This pattern costs $6.51 to download, but it's just so - well, precious!

Deborah Mann Lake's Heirloom recipes season family holidays with precious memories

From - 02/20/18:

A secretary went to the company stockroom and requisitioned a box of pens. The clerk fumbled around for a bit and then handed her a box of ballpoints.

The secretary returned to her desk, took out a new pen, and began to write. The pen skipped and then stopped, giving out any ink. Frustrated, she tried another pen and then another and another. None of them worked.

Returning to the stockroom, she slammed down the box of defective pens and demanded, "Why did you give me a box of pens that don't work?"

The clerk answered, "Well, somebody has to use them!"

Precious Memories

- Music and Lyrics by J. B. F. Wright (21 Feb 1877 - ???), 1925

Precious memories, unseen angels
Sent from somewhere to my soul
How they linger, ever near me
And the sacred scenes unfold.

Precious memories, how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious, sacred scenes unfold.

Precious father, loving mother
Fly across the lonely years
And old home scenes of my childhood
In fond memory appear.

In the stillness of the midnight
Echoes from the past I hear
Old-time singing, gladness bringing
From that lovely land somewhere.

I remember mother praying
Father, too, on bended knee
Sun is sinking, shadows falling
But their prayers still follow me.

As I travel on life's pathway
Know not what the years may hold
As I ponder, hope grows fonder
Precious memories flood my soul.
