The indelible image of an educator, imbued of erudition and [her] caring for the students, in their charge, is a keepsake.

These thoughts of a teacher who taught me in the mid-60s, and a sister, also taught by Mrs. Collins, a decade later, referenced her, as a favorite . . .

I extend heartfelt condolences to the family. And may the treasured memory of her rich, and long-lived life, afford you an enduring solace.

My condolences to the family.

I have always related the stories of my fondness of her teaching abilities and I considered her not only a great educator, but someone I had always respected.

Regretfully, I never reached out to tell her this directly.

May you rest in peace and know that you have left your mark on one person that was fortunate enough to have been graced with your presence here on Earth.

The King of Love My Shepherd Is

Words by Henry W. Baker
Music by John B. Dykes

The King of love my shepherd is,
Whose goodness faileth never.
I nothing lack if I am His,
And He is mine forever.
Where streams of living water flow,
My ransomed soul He leadeth;
And, where the verdant pastures grow,
With food celestial feedeth.

Perverse and foolish, oft I strayed,
But yet in love He sought me;
And on His shoulder gently laid,
And home, rejoicing, brought me.

In death's dark vale I fear no ill,
With Thee, dear Lord, beside me;
Thy rod and staff my comfort still,
Thy cross before to guide me.

Thou spreadst a table in my sight;
Thy unction grace bestoweth;
And oh, what transport of delight
From Thy pure chalice floweth!

And so through all the length of days,
Thy goodness faileth never;
Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise
Within Thy house forever.
