Brenda,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. Also for your dad and brother. It has been quite a long time since we all were at Orcutt Ave Baptist. My prayer is that your mother did not suffer and that you are at peace with her passing. Good bless you and your family.

When you see today’s  NNDP obit for Mary Eakes, not only was she an NNHS alumna, but her late son,    Harold, was a member of the Class of 1964.

   Thank you, David.

Dear NNHS friends,

Thanks so much for all of the thoughtful calls, cards, emails, and condolences in the recent passing of my mother, Mary Eileen Carter Eakes. She went very peacefully and quickly, at the age of 89, having her final wish of being able to remain in her home until her final day.

She too, was a graduate of NNHS, the Class of 1937. Thanks for the article and tribute to her life.

Brenda (Eakes) Insley

   Thank you, Brenda - and Dee! It was our honor to make this Memorial Edition for her.  Again, you have our deepest condolences.

  Y'all take good care of each other!  TYPHOONS FOREVER!  We'll Always Have Buckroe!

                          Love to all, Carol

Shall We Gather at the River

Words and Music by Rev. Robert Lowry (1826-1899)

 Shall we gather at the river,
Where bright angel feet have trod;
With its crystal tide forever
Flowing by the throne of God?

Chorus

Yes, we'll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.

On the margin of the river,
Washing up its silver spray,
We will walk and worship ever,
All the happy golden day.

Chorus

Ere we reach the shining river,
Lay we every burden down;
Grace our spirits will deliver,
And provide a robe and crown.

Chorus

Soon we'll reach the shining river,
Soon our pilgrimage will cease,
Soon our happy hearts will quiver
With the melody of peace.

Chorus
