To Winnie's Family,
I had the pleasure of working along side of Winnie in the Newport News Circuit Court Clerk's Office from 1974 until her retirement. I was just 18 years old and Winnie taught me the good values of working well with not only your co-workers but with the Public. I missed her terribly when she retired but I am so glad that she was able to have many years of enjoyable retirement. Winnie left a great impression with each and every person that she worked with. She will be missed by so many but her memories will last a lifetime with me. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and always remember she loved you dearly.

Lead Me Gently Home

Words and Music by Will L. Thompson, 1879
(07 Nov 1847 - 20 Sept 1909)

Lead me gently home, Father,
Lead me gently home;
When life’s toils are ended,
And parting days have come,
Sin no more shall tempt me,
Ne’er from Thee I’ll roam,
If Thou’ll only lead me, Father,
Lead me gently home.

* Refrain:
Lead me gently home, Father,
Lead me gently home, Father,
Lest I fall upon the wayside,
Lead me gently home.

Lead me gently home, Father,
Lead me gently home;
In life’s darkest hours, Father,
When life’s troubles come,
Keep my feet from wand’ring,
Lest from Thee I roam,
Lest I fall upon the wayside,
Lead me gently home.
