From the President of the Class of 1965, Joe Wingo of NC - 01/27/12, 3:44 PM - "Your Loss":
Carol and Paul,
Please accept my sincere condolences. The loss of a loved one is always difficult but our Lord sustains us in all our sorrow.
I know you will draw comfort from each other and from your faith.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
From Wayne Stokes ('65) of VA - 01/27/12, 4:18 PM - "Sad Report":
I send my sincere condolences to Paul, and you, on the passing of his stepmother. I was raised by a stepfather < and my mother> that I still hold in the highest regard.
It is my wish that the sadness of such a loss will soon pass and be replaced with fond memories.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Wayne Honey! While Lavern (Simmers Schrader Harty) didn't raise Paul, she's been a close member of our family since 1977, and we both feel that loss very deeply.
From Brenda Shepard McCoy of VA ('67) - 01/27/12, 6:14 PM - "Go Rest High On That Mountain":
|Thanks, Carol, for the
Vince Gill, "Go Rest High On That Mountain." It was played at my
father's service when he passed away; so beautiful.
Brenda McCoy 67'
Thank you so much, Brenda! Apparently I was living in a Dixie Cup during the nineties, as I had never heard the song before yesterday morning. The timing of my "chance encounter" was too powerful for me to ignore. It touched me very deeply; I'm glad you enjoyed it, too.
From Norris Perry (Warwick HS - '59) of VA - 01/27/12 - "Small request by Friday":
February 4, 2012 is World Cancer Day - I'd appreciate it if you would
forward this request.
Friday is world cancer day - we'd appreciate it if you will forward this request.
Sadly 93% won't forward.
All you are invited to do is keep this
circulating, even if it's only to one more person.
|Certainly, Norris Sweetie! Thank you!|
From Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA - 01/27/12 - "Golf..":
|Even if you are not a golfer, you owe it to yourself to watch
this. Certainly a different perspective on professional sports.
Thank you, David! In looking for a copy of the PowerPoint show you sent me that I could use for the Newsletter, I found several which characterized it as humor. I thought it was too painfully true to be funny, but it was certainly interesting!
From Joan Lauterbach Krause ('60) of VA -01/17/12 - "Bent Humor (#7 in a Series of 13)":
Carol, check this one out. Funny.
JoanWhat artists do if given wire and household objects and too much time on their hands!
WILD GIGGLES! Thanks, Joan!
From Ruth Ann Reece Horace ('67) of FL -01/26/12 - "Smile (#2 in a Series of 13)!!":
HOPE AT LEAST
