Dear Friends and Schoolmates,   

    I'm saddened to report that we have another sad Memorial Edition of the NNHS Newsletter this Friday.   Leslie Diamond, Salutatorian of the Class of 1966, brother of Sharon Diamond Hoffman, passed away at home in Newport News in January, 2018. He would have turned 70 next week. May his memory be for a blessing always.

NEWPORT NEWS - Leslie Keith Diamond, 69, of Newport News, passed away at his home in January 2018.

He was born on February 2, 1948 in Newport News to Phyllis and Harry Diamond.

He graduated Salutatorian of Newport News High School in 1966, and he received his BS degree from UVA and his JD degree from the College of William and Mary. He had a law practice in Norfolk for over 40 years, and he was a member of the ABA.

Leslie was also a lifetime member of Adath Jeshurun synagogue, and he loved spending all of the Jewish holidays with his family. His favorite pastimes were attending UVA football games, rock concerts, amusement parks, swimming in Virginia Beach, and traveling to England. And most of all, he enjoyed doing everything with his four nieces.

He was an avid memorabilia collector and Elvis Presley's number one fan. He spent many happy years with his Siberian Husky Elvis and Samoyed Star.

Leslie is survived by his sister, Sharon Hoffman, and her husband, Richard; his nieces, Lisa Hoffman of Williamsburg, Heather Hoffman and husband Alan Rukin, Corinne Hoffman and husband Ari Fried, and Phyllicia Tanenbaum and husband Robert, all of Alexandria; great-nephews, Jacoby and Sammy, and great-nieces, Charlotte and Eliana.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 26, at the Hebrew Cemetery.View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
