From Jimmy Dick ('65) of FL - 01/22/19, 7:09 AM:

Good morning on Hump Day and I hope you are all making a success of your climb on the road to another weekend. ... I wish each of you a wonderful day.

It's cold today in most places, so bundle up and stay warm. But sometimes a walk on a cold day, when the cold muffles many noises and forces the senses to hone in more carefully, affords the wonder of seeing things you miss. On the surface it may look stark, but if you pay attention you'll see that life still goes on, just at a much different pace. Be blessed since we all woke up again and are afforded another day. Use it wisely and enjoy. I'll see you again later when my tasks are done. God bless.

   Thank you, Jimmy!

Once Upon a Time Knitting Pattern Reference List - "Once Upon a Time is one of my favorite TV shows and I'm in love with all the beautiful knitted accessories and sweaters the characters wear. I decided to start a reference list here for knitting patterns inspired by the show! I will add to it over time as I find more patterns."

Once Upon a Time Cross Stitched Bookmark - "I know reading a book on an iPad or Kindle is in vogue right now, but call me old-fashioned – I like to read a book in print. I love to hear the creak when I first crack open a good hardbound book and smell the ink from the pages. What better way to savor the experience than to cross-stitch your own bookmark?... For this bookmark, instead of buying a pre-made bookmark from the craft store, I used 18-count aida fabric and for the floss — 3 strands for the type and 1 strand for all of the back stitching. To cover the stitches in the back, I cut out a strip of felt (2” x 6-3/4”) and stitched it to the front with an embroidery needle, using half stitches. Finished size, including fringe is 2-3/4” wide x 7-1/2” long." - Technically, I was unable to locate the actual chart for this, but if you're an experienced cross-stitcher, you can chart it yourself. It was just too special not to share with y'all!

Claire Gallam’s Once Upon A Time: Enchantingly Inspired Recipes - “When I was a little girl, I would close my eyes and wish that the fairy tales my mother told me before bed would come true. I'd wish that a prince on a giant white stallion would rescue me from my second floor bedroom and whisk me away into a magical forest. Although I've grown up some, the idea of living in a modern day fairy tale, like Emma Swan in ABC's Once Upon a Time, is very enticing. Since the probability of my being rescued from corporate America by a tall, dark and handsome prince is quite low, I'll create my own wonderland with these fairy tale foods!”

From - 01/21/18:

A 60-year-old millionaire was getting married and threw a big wedding reception. His friends were quite jealous, and in a quiet moment one of them asked him how he landed such a hot 23 year old beauty.

“Simple,” grinned the millionaire, “I lied about my age."

His friends were really amazed, and asked him how much he said.

"Well," he replied, "I said I was 87!"

Once Upon a Time

Words by Lee Adams (b. 14 Aug 1924)
Music by
Charles Strouse (b. 07 June 1928), for All American, 1962

Once upon a time
A girl with moonlight in her eyes
Put her hand in mine
And said she loved me so
But that was once upon a time
Very long ago

Once upon a hill
We sat beneath a willow tree
Counting all the stars and waiting for the dawn
But that was once upon a time
Now the tree is gone

How the breeze ruffled through her hair
How we always laughed as though tomorrow wasn't there
We were young and didn't have a care
Where did it go

Once upon a time
The world was sweeter than we knew
Everything was ours
How happy we were then
But somehow once upon a time
Never comes again

Once upon a time
Never comes again
