01/21/19 - NNHS Newsletter - There Will Never Be Another You

“You've got to recognize, there will never be another you. It has nothing to do with ego; it happens to be the truth.
There will never be another person the same. There will never be another you.”

- Mickey Rooney
(23 Sept 1920 - 06 Apr 2014)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

Here's another lovely old song from years gone by, this one by the great Nat King Cole.

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There_Will_Never_Be_Another_You:

"There Will Never Be Another You" is a popular song with music by Harry Warren and lyrics by Mack Gordon for the Twentieth Century Fox musical Iceland (1942) starring Sonja Henie and John Payne. The songs in the film featured Joan Merrill accompanied by Sammy Kaye and His Orchestra.[1] The song was published in 1942, and is at least since the 1950s and Chet Baker's 1954 recording one of the widely known and performed standards of the jazz repertoire.[2]

“Everybody in this life has their challenges and difficulties. That is part of our mortal test. The reason for some of these trials cannot be readily understood except on the basis of faith and hope because there is often a larger purpose which we do not always understand. Peace comes through hope.”

- James E. Faust

From My Niece, Shari, of VA - 12/30/18 - "DIY HOME PROJECTS (#9 in a Series of 20)":

Love some of these super ideas and hope others do too.

The stone carpet is awesome. My great aunt, who used live in Williamsburg, did some stone work on her patio. It was pretty, but not this detailed. Looks like a fun project to do with others. It would be quite the endeavor for one.

The cheese grater one is also one I like, a lot. The simplicity is nice and gives it a vintage feel.

There are so many talented people in our world!

   OOH! Thank you, Shari!

BONUS NOT ANOTHER OWL CROCHET PATTERN:

The Original Not ANOTHER Owl Hat!

BONUS NOT ANOTHER DISHCLOTH KNIT PATTERN:

Not Another Dishcloth - "Does the world need another dishcloth pattern? Probably not. That said, the pattern on this dishcloth makes it great for scrubbing off dirt. It looks good in your kitchen or bathroom and is great for using up the leftovers in your cotton stash as well since one dishcloth only takes about 55m / 60yd. Please keep in mind that cotton usually shrinks about 5% in the first wash."

BONUS NOT JUST ANOTHER KALE SALAD DELICIOUS RECIPE:

Alton Brown's Not Just Another Kale Salad - "Kale is a unique dark leafy green that can stand up to heavy dressings and yet is tender enough to be eaten raw, hence its popularity in salads. This member of the cabbage family comes in three common market forms: curly, red (also curly), and lacinato, aka Tuscan, aka cavolo nero, aka "dinosaur" kale. This latter specimen has long, relatively flat leaves and is my preferred kale for this application..."

FINALLY:

From www.ajokeaday.com - 01/20/19:

A young banker decided to get his first tailor made suit. So he went to the finest tailor in town and got measured for a suit. A week later he went in for his first fitting. He put on the suit and he looked stunning, he felt that in this suit he can do business. As he was preening himself in front of the mirror he reached down to put his hands in the pockets and to his surprise he noticed that there were no pockets.

He mentioned this to the tailor who asked him, "Didn't you tell me you were a banker?"

The young man answered, "Yes, I did."

To this the tailor said, "Who ever heard of a banker with his hands in his own pockets?"

There Will Never Be Another You

Lyrics by Mack Gordon (21 June 1904 – 28 Feb 1959)

Music by Harry Warren (24 Dec 1893 – 22 Sept 1981)

Recorded by Nat King Cole (17 Mar 1919 – 15 Feb 1965) with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, 1955

This is our last dance together,
Tonight soon will be long ago.
And in our moment of parting,
This is all I want you to know...

There will be many other nights like this,
And I'll be standing here with someone new.
There will be other songs to sing,
Another fall...another spring...
But there will never be another you.

There will be other lips that I may kiss,
But they won't thrill me,
Like yours used to do.
Yes, I may dream a million dreams,
But how can they come true,
If there will never, ever be another you?

Yes, I may dream a million dreams,
But how can they come true,
If there will never, ever be...
Another you?
