Dear Friends and Schoolmates,   
   We have still more sad news today.   
 Noriko Torimaru Beahm, mother-in-law of    Bob Hines ('66) of VA, passed away in Newport News on Wednesday, January 09, 2013 at the age of 87.

                   Noriko Torimaru Beahm

   

NEWPORT NEWS - Noriko Torimaru Beahm, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Beahm, Jr.; her sisters, Fumiko, Hideko, Sumino, and her brother Yutaka.

She was a native of Kagoshima, Japan and a Peninsula resident since 1968. Noriko enjoyed attending Bible study classes, exercise classes at Mary Immaculate, and socializing with a circle of friends who, like her, were native Japanese, married American servicemen, and subsequently moved to the U.S. after World War II. She became a naturalized citizen on November 9, 1960.

She is survived by her children, Lucy Hines (Bob), George Beahm (Mary), Nancy Shaffer (Dick), Janet Beahm, Norma Phillips (Dave), and Paul Beahm (Abbey); thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Kazuo Torimaru (Masako) and their two children of Japan.

 

 
 
 


The family expresses their gratitude to Dr. David Connito, her renal specialist for his gentle and loving care of Noriko in her final days.

The family will receive friends from 11:00-12 noon on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Weymouth Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon in the Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment at Peninsula Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home.
