“Strike an average between what a woman thinks of her husband
a month before she marries him and what she thinks of him
a year afterward, and you will have the truth about him.

From Linda Lane Lane ('64) of VA - 01/10/10 - "Me Too!":

Paul (Harty - Bardolph HS, IL - '61 - of IL) sure hit the nail on the head.  Reading the newsletters is like continuing a friendship that has lasted many years.  Well, OK, I think it has been around 43-44 years now since our band days and friendship with dear Rose (Woodard Groff) ('65)       Dave Arnold ('65 - of VA) was the person who first told me about the NNHS web site and I remember asking if you got paid for this.  Well, I sure think you should be paid.  Connecting and reconnecting friends is an invaluable service.  I don't know what I would do with our your notes, comments and even tears.

Thank You for all the years of love and friendship.

Always,
Linda LL

Thank you so much, Linda-Linda! And of course, I have been paid - in every imaginable way:

Pilgrimage to the Vet

A client brought a litter of golden retriever puppies to a veterinary clinic for inoculations and worming. As the look-alike pups squirmed over and under one another in their box, the vet realized it would be difficult to tell the treated ones from the rest. So, the vet turned on the water faucet, wet his fingers, and moistened each dog's head when he had finished.

After the fourth puppy, the vet noticed the talkative client had grown silent. As the vet sprinkled the last pup's head, the woman leaned forward and whispered, "I didn't know they had to be baptized, too."

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.

For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is
that wrinkles don't hurt....

FINALLY:

From ArcaMax Jokes - 01/10/09:

Used Peanuts

A man visits his aunt in the nursing home. It turns out that she is taking a nap, so he just sits down in a chair in her room, flips through a few magazines, and munches on some peanuts sitting in a bowl on the table.

Eventually, the aunt wakes up, and her nephew realizes he's absentmindedly finished the entire bowl. "I'm so sorry, auntie, I've eaten all of your peanuts!"

"That's okay, dearie," the aunt replied. "After I've sucked the chocolate off, I don't care for them anyway."

Chapel of Love

Music and lyrics by
Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich and Phil Spector

Recorded by
The Dixie Cups, 1964

Spring is here
The sky is blue
(whoa-whoa-whoa)
Birds all sing
As if they knew
Today's the day
We'll say I do
And we'll never be lonely anymore
Because we're

Goin' to the chapel and we're
Gonna get married
Goin' to the chapel and we're
Gonna get married
Gee, I really love you and we're
Gonna get married
Goin' to the chapel of love

Bells will ring
The sun will shine
(whoa-whoa-whoa)
I'll be his and
He'll be mine
We'll love until
The end of time
And we'll never be lonely anymore
Because we're

Goin' to the chapel and we're
Gonna get married
Goin' to the chapel and we're
Gonna get married
Gee, I really love you and we're
Gonna get married
Goin' to the chapel of love
