Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

    What a great song!

BONUS #1 - God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You - 'N Sync, 1998

BONUS #2 - God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You - Alabama, 1999

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%28God_Must_Have_Spent%29_A_Little_More_Time_on_You

"(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time On You" is the sixth and final single released from 'N Sync's self-titled debut album. While the previous singles were released in Europe, this one was not, and subsequently only charted in Australia and the US, reaching #46 and #8 respectively. The single included a live version of Christopher Cross song "Sailing", as well as a limited edition postcard. Some versions of the single included the track's video.

The video was directed by Lionel C. Martin.[3] The video shows the band performing around one single mike, while showing footage of a mother and child, from birth right up to old age, including childhood memories, having grandchildren and getting married. All the footage of the mother and child is in black and white, whereas the footage of Nsync is in full colour...

In 1999, country music band Alabama recorded the song, and released it as a single from their second studio album.[2] This version peaked at number three on the Billboard country singles charts and at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was Alabama's final Top Ten hit on the country charts, as well as the only country chart entry for 'N Sync.[2] The song was later included as the B-side to Alabama's next single, "Small Stuff."[2]

From My Friend, Daniel, of UT - 12/28/14:

“I will tell you how I feel on a Sabbath morning. I realize this is a day set apart to worship Almighty God: now I ought to worship God myself, and I ought to look after my family and discover whether they are engaged in the same thing or not. For we are commanded to keep holy the Sabbath day and to rest from all our labors, as God did when He created the earth upon which we dwell.

He has given us six days to attend to the various labors and duties of life, and if we [undertake] to keep the Sabbath, let us do it acceptably to God our Father, dedicating ourselves to him at least, for that day, and placing our feelings and affections upon him.”

-  John Taylor
(01 Nov 1808 - 25 July 1887)

   Thanks so much, Daniel!

From the Cutest Boy in the Class of 1965, HP Lucas of NC - 01/03/19, 1:40 PM - "Location update":

Hello Carol and a happy New Years to the FAMILY.

Please note my bride and I now reside in Corolla, NC.

Huge THANKS for keeping us informed and all your EFFORTS!

H P Lucas

Thank you so much, HP! I've known for about six months that y'all have moved - I worry about you every time the rains fall and the winds blow - but I see I never had "moved" you out of Virginia. Don't feel too badly; apparently I'd never "moved" myself back from Illinois, and that's been seven-and-a-half years now! I've remedied all that now. Thanks for the nudge!

From Lynn Walker Brothers ('65) of VA - 01/03/19, 4:23 PM - "  Billy Turner ('65) of TX":

Hey Carol,

Happy New Year. Hope you had a wonderful holiday.

I heard from Billy Turner and he was concerned that he no longer receives your newsletters. He thinks you might have an old email address. His address is _______@_____.___.

Thanks,
Lynn

Thanks so much, Lynn! Billy Turner is correct; I had an oldie addie for him, but I've switched it now in all the right places!

From Jimmy Dick ('65) of FL - 01/03/19, 7:18 AM:

Good morning everyone on the first Thursday of 2019. Have you ever noticed how in the dark of night, your deepest concerns seem worse and your aches and pains are more acute? Then, when the bright sunshine shows itself, you feel better and don't notice those problematic things so much. Well, it's the LIGHT VS DARKNESS thing and it also is so important that your spiritual side understands that as well. What is the solution? Just let the SON SHINE in. You'll feel marvelous and you will have a blessed day.

       Thank you, Jimmy!

(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time on You

Recorded by 'N Sync, 1998

Recorded by Alabama, 1999

Can this be true? Tell me, can this be real?
How can I put into words what I feel?
My life was complete, I thought I was whole
Why do I feel like I'm losing control?
I never thought that love could feel like this
Then you changed my world with just one kiss
How can it be that right here with me
There's an angel? It's a miracle

Your love is like a river, peaceful and deep
Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep
When I look into your eyes, I know that it's true
God must have spent a little more time on you
(A little more time....I'm sure he did....yes he did, babe...)

In all of creation, all things great and small
You are the one that surpasses them all
More precious than any diamond or pearl
They broke the mold when you came in this world
And I'm trying hard to figure out...just how I ever did without
The warmth of your smile, the heart of a child
That's deep inside, it leaves me purified

Your love is like a river, peaceful and deep
Your soul is like a secret that I never could keep
When I look into your eyes, I know that it's true
God must have spent a little more time on you

God must have spent a little more time on you
You
On you
A little more time on you.
