01/04/15 - NNHS Newsletter - God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You
“There are two sorts of romantics: those who love,
and those who love the adventure of loving.”

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
What a great song!

BONUS #2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6djej1NLk4&ob=av2e - God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You, - Alabama, 1999
|"(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time On You" is the
sixth and final single released from
Sync's self-titled debut album. While the previous singles were
released in Europe, this one was not, and subsequently only charted
in Australia and the US, reaching #46 and #8 respectively. The
single included a live version of
Christopher Cross song "Sailing", as well as a limited edition
postcard. Some versions of the single included the track's video.
The video was directed by Lionel C. Martin. The video shows the band performing around one single mike, while showing footage of a mother and child, from birth right up to old age, including childhood memories, having grandchildren and getting married. All the footage of the mother and child is in black and white, whereas the footage of Nsync is in full colour...
In 1999, country music band Alabama recorded the song, and released it as a single from their second studio album. This version peaked at number three on the Billboard country singles charts and at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was Alabama's final Top Ten hit on the country charts, as well as the only country chart entry for 'N Sync. The song was later included as the B-side to Alabama's next single, "Small Stuff."

Gloucester counties. According to the Southside Sentinel 12/31/14 the

WOWZERONI-RINI! Thank you so very much for letting us know this about our former Student Body President, Forrest! Congratulations to the entire Shaw family!
From My Friend, Daniel, of UT - 12/28/14:
|“I will tell you how
I feel on a Sabbath morning. I realize this is a day set apart to
worship Almighty God: now I ought to worship God myself, and I ought to
look after my family and discover whether they are engaged in the same
thing or not. For we are commanded to keep holy the Sabbath day and to
rest from all our labors, as God did when He created the earth upon
which we dwell.
“He has given us six days to attend to the various labors and duties of life, and if we [undertake] to keep the Sabbath, let us do it acceptably to God our Father, dedicating ourselves to him at least, for that day, and placing our feelings and affections upon him.”
Thanks so much, Daniel!
From Frank Blechman ('65) of Northern VA - 01/03/15 - "Happy New New":

This made me laugh so hard... I imagine if I had a cat I might get this
look every now and again... Lol
Thanks, Laura! I can certainly identify with this. At the height of my illness I chanced by a mirror and screamed at the dreadful apparition myself!
From My Friend, Debbie, of NC - 01/03/15
|Thanks, Debbie! What a great resolution!|
From My Friend, Hannah, of NC - 01/03/15 - "Why You Need To Stop Checking Your Phone All The Time":
Thank you so much, Hannah! This has become a personal peeve of mine in recent months; however, being a grammar freak, I must admit it pales in terms of what this error in the fourth paragraph - which regrettably seems to have become almost universally accepted in recent years - does to me:
"There’s a heap of people....."
ARGHHH! Whatever happened to the very nice plural contraction, "there're?!?" Would people really say, "There is a heap of people...?!?"
Oh, the humanity! What would our splendid English teachers have to say about this degeneration of American society?!?
INDEED! Thanks, George!
