We have more sad news this Saturday morning. Grace Hilda Stokes, Class of @ 1932, sister of Lewis Stokes of VA, passed away at The Gardens at Warwick Forest in Newport News on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the age of 98.

                 Grace Hilda Stokes

 

NEWPORT NEWS - Grace Hilda Stokes, 98, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at The Gardens at Warwick Forest.

She was born on April 22, 1916 in Newport News and was a graduate of Newport News High School.

Grace retired in 1981 as a Classification Specialist with the Civil Service at Fort Monroe with over 30 years of service.

She is survived by her brother, Lewis Stokes, Jr. of Newport News; her nephew, Charles P. L. Stokes and wife, Sue, of Newport News; two grandnieces, Yvonne Smith and husband, Brian, of Newport News and Elizabeth Stokes of Richmond; and one great-grandniece, Ashleigh Peterson.

A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Weymouth Funeral Home. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
